AUSTIN, Texas--()--Wenzel Spine, Inc., a pioneer medical device company focused on providing minimally invasive, expandable stand-alone alternatives to traditional spinal fusion, announced today the full commercial availability of the VariLift®-LX System throughout the U.S.

VariLift®-LX represents the next generation of Wenzel Spine’s innovative product lines of Expandable Stand-Alone interbody fusion devices. The zero-profile VariLift®-LX System provides a broader portfolio of options for surgeons when performing lumbar fusion procedures. Now with full U.S. commercial availability, Wenzel Spine will be exhibiting the VariLift®-LX system at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) conference in Chicago, IL on May 2nd – 4th. Wenzel Spine will be at booth #5001 demonstrating the capabilities of the Expandable Stand-Alone VariLift-®LX System.

Dr. David Lee, who participated in the VariLift®-LX System limited release, is President of the Southern Neurologic & Spinal Institute in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Lee commented, “The LX System provides a significant improvement in implant sizes and instrumentation. This new system brings an excellent clinical option of true stand-alone interbody fusion to spine surgeons.” Dr. Lee further commented, “The LX System expanded implant sizes makes the system attractive for both PLIF and TLIF procedures.”

The VariLift®-LX System is a significant expansion of Wenzel Spine’s expandable interbody portfolio. Available in two lengths and five heights, the VariLift®-LX System allows surgeons to implant a device optimizing fit within the disc space. Streamlined and intuitive instrumentation allows for true minimally invasive lumbar fusion procedures. Surgeons are able to implant and expand VariLift®-LX without disengaging the instrumentation that also allows them to insert autograft material.

Chad Neely, Chief Executive Officer of Wenzel Spine, said, “We are very pleased with the strong response we received from surgeons during the limited release of VariLift®-LX. We are now ready to move to full commercial availability in the U.S. We believe our next generation VariLift®-LX System builds on the vision of true minimally invasive fusion procedures and will provide significant advances to surgeons looking for a simple to use expandable stand-alone solution. VariLift®-LX will make a significant impact on the way minimally invasive spine procedures are performed.”
