Each of these four companies was recognized by their peers as having a compelling business success story to build capability and improve performance. Each finalist is slated to deliver live presentations at the upcoming Capability Counts Conference May 10 in Annapolis, Md., where approximately 350 conference attendees are going to vote to decide the Capability Challenge champion.

Global Professionals Share Success Stories During New CMMI Webinar Series
The Capability Challenge competition showcases global leaders and organizations working to build capability and improve performance. Contestants presented their business success stories during the webinars, and then attendees voted on the best story to move on to the finals.
The competing finalists’ presentations each detail a company’s success story using Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI):
- Honeywell Technology Solutions, the technology development and engineering arm of Honeywell, is using CMMI to increase software quality through reduced errors and defects. Honeywell’s CMMI-based improvement program enables increased profit levels per employee and improved customer satisfaction targets. One hundred percent of Honeywell’s global software divisions are compatible with CMMI maturity level 5.
- AEGIS.net Inc., a certified small business and premier provider of information technology consulting services, achieved an organization-wide CMMI maturity level 3 rating. By implementing CMMI, AEGIS.net streamlined its project and work management capabilities, which resulted in the ability to scale its business and triple its revenue.
- Noregon Systems, known in the transportation industry as commercial vehicle data experts, achieved a CMMI maturity level 3 rating. Through using CMMI, Noregon achieved a 30 percent reduction in defects, decreased project on-time completion rates by 25 percent, and reduced project budget overruns by 10 percent.
- Intellego, a leading Latin American company in the development of solutions and information management services, achieved a CMMI maturity level 5 rating for its Global Delivery Center. The outcome of Intellego’s CMMI adoption resulted in a 10 percent increase in profit, a 15 percent reduction in time to market, and a 40 percent decrease in defects, leading to higher customer satisfaction.
Other organizations that presented during the webinar challenge include Dubai Customs, National Nuclear Security Administration Software, Transdyne Corporation, Siemens AG, Nationwide Application Development Center, CGI, Halfaker & Associates, L-3 National Security Solutions, Jardine Lloyd Thompson India, Cognosante, and Technical Systems Integration.
