GRENOBLE, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Keepixo, a leading provider of software-based head-end solutions for IPTV and OTT, today unveiled AL2000-UHD its latest generation of Live Encoder Platforms capable of encoding 4K/Ultra-HD content in HEVC with resolutions up to 4KP60 (3840×2160 @ 60fps, 10bits).
4K is gaining popularity as worldwide shipments of 4K capable TVs is growing rapidly. According to recent studies, household penetration of Ultra HD 4K TVs in U.S. is expected to exceed 30 percent by 2019 and will top 25% in Europe. This rapid growth will create tremendous opportunities and create the need for more 4K content.
The AL2000-UHD platform comes in a compact 1U form factor; leverages the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v4 and encodes content into HEVC Main 10 profile with optional support for HDR. Output is available in either IPTV or OTT formats. When used in OTT applications the AL2000-UHD also features a built-in packager which generates an output stream compliant with popular streaming protocols such as Apple HLS and MPEG-DASH.
