MCLEAN, Va. & MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) (“Gannett”) and Journal Media Group, Inc. (NYSE: JMG) (“JMG”) announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice has closed its investigation of Gannett’s proposed acquisition of JMG, and that early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, has been granted. Gannett and JMG expect to complete the transaction after the close of regular trading on the New York Stock Exchange on April 8, 2016, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
