PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jaunt Studios, the leading producer and publisher of fully-immersive cinematic virtual reality experiences, and Grammy Award Winner Ray LaMontagne, today released a virtual reality (VR) music video experience for Ray’s first single “Hey, No Pressure” from his sixth studio album Ouroboros. Directed by Peter Martin, the experience offers fans a fresh way to enjoy Ray’s music in a jaw-dropping, fully-immersive visual experience.
Set to the song “Hey, No Pressure,” viewers are transported to a mesmerizing world with solo dancers moving to Ray’s music. Lavish visual effects and shapes create an exotic aura that blends into the song and provide a memorable visual backdrop. Filmed with Jaunt’s proprietary omnidirectional Jaunt ONE camera, the experience lets fans move beyond the traditional realm of music videos, giving a sense of presence. The user is fully enveloped in a three-dimensional world comprised of Ray’s creative expression of sound and visuals.
“Ray LaMontagne is one of the most talented and influential artists on the music scene today,” says Cliff Plumer, President of Jaunt Studios. “His decision to collaborate with Jaunt illustrates the significance of VR, not only as the next great content medium, but also as the next wave of innovation in the music industry. VR truly has the potential to transform how artists everywhere connect with fans.”
"I have been both fascinated by and immensely curious about Virtual Reality technology -- in both how content is created and in the question of what its many possible implications on our culture might be over time,” said Ray LaMontagne. “I was very honored when Jaunt approached me about creating a VR video for “Hey, No Pressure” and I was blown away when I saw it for the first time. It is interpretative, artistic, beautiful, expressive, and trippy as hell!"
Ray will also take stage at the SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake on March 17 at 8:00 PM CT in Austin, Texas. The venue opens at 2:00pm and viewers will have the opportunity to experience the “Hey, No Pressure” VR content for free that same night at Jaunt’s booth, located inside the Lady Bird Lake venue. This SXSW showcase is free and open to the public with a Guest Pass, which you can download at guestpass.sxsw.com; the SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake is located at 800 W Riverside Dr.
The content is available exclusively via the Jaunt VR app and can be downloaded on Google Play, iTunes, and GearVR. Click here to check out Ray’s new album Ouroboros in full.
