PADF Welcomes New Trustees

WASHINGTON--()--The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Trustees, effective March 1, 2016. Their appointment expands the Board to 21 members. New trustees include:

  • German Herrera, North America Industrial Practice Group Head, Egon Zehnder
  • Marcos Jimenez, CEO, Softtek USA and Canada
  • Javier Saade, Senior Fellow, Georgetown University Beeck Center for Social Impact & Innovation and Executive in Residence at Columbia University's Columbia Technology Ventures

Board members are elected for their personal commitment to PADF’s mission of assisting disadvantaged people in Latin America and the Caribbean and a willingness to actively participate in Foundation activities and governance.

“PADF is pleased to welcome these talented leaders to our board,” said Luis A. Ubiñas, president of PADF’s Board of Trustees. “We firmly believe that their proven skills, experience and commitment will further PADF’s mission to improve the lives of vulnerable people throughout the hemisphere."

German Herrera is head of North America Industrial Practice at Egon Zehnder, the world’s leading privately held executive search firm. He works with executives of industrial enterprises on recruiting, assessing and retaining leadership teams in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. He established and led Egon Zehnder’s Miami office for nine years and helped open an office in Bogotá, Colombia. Prior to joining the firm he held leadership positions at Promigas in Colombia, McKinsey & Company’s Andean Pact Office, and the International Paper Company. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Colombia University.

Marcos Jimenez is CEO of, Softtek USA and Canada, a leading IT service provider, originally established in Mexico. He founded Softtek Peru and founded several international companies including Mexico-based software company SigmaTao as a joint venture with Telmex. He also founded Softtek Europe with Spanish Bank Caixa Galicia. He serves on the board of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC). He earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico.

Javier Saade is a Senior Fellow at Georgetown University’s Beeck Center for Social Impact & Innovation and Executive in Residence at Columbia University's Columbia Technology Ventures. He recently served as Associate Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Investment and Innovation. Saade has served as Managing Director at The GEM Group, a Principal at Paradigm Ventures, and an institutional client advisor at Bridgewater Associates. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, a master’s degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in industrial management and engineering from Purdue University.
