CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bretford Manufacturing, Inc.®, a U.S.-based manufacturer of technology-enabled furniture for 21st century learning and work environments today introduced three new MacBook and iPad charging carts with the “future-proof” MiX Module System. The new Mobility MiX™, PureCharge MiX™ and PowerSync MiX™ carts are designed specifically to be the last charging carts a school will ever need thanks to the Bretford® MiX Module System, customizable modules that can be continually modified or replaced to accommodate future devices. All of the new MacBook and iPad carts are being shown for the first time in the Bretford booth (#2570) during the 2016 TCEA Expo, Feb. 3-5 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
Huey Ng, product manager at Bretford Manufacturing, Inc., explained: “Twenty years ago, Bretford mobilized the computer lab and transformed technology usage in education with the introduction of the first laptop charging cart. With the new Mobility, PureCharge, and PowerSync MiX Carts, we set out to distill two decades of experience into a cart that can perpetually adapt to the fast-paced evolution of mobile devices. And at the heart of that is the MiX Module System.”
The breakthrough MiX Module System is removable, adjustable, and reconfigurable. As device and power needs change, simply swap out or add a MiX Module. Modules, shelf heights, and slot sizes can continually change and evolve without the need to replace the entire cart.
The new carts will be available in the following models:
- Mobility MiX provides AC power for use with MacBook and iPad power adapters
- PureCharge MiX provides USB charge for iPad with pre-installed Lightning cables
- PowerSync MiX provides USB charge and sync for iPad with pre-installed Lightning cables
The MiX Module System also makes it possible to support hybrid deployments, providing both AC power for MacBook and USB charge and sync for iPad in the same cart.
The new carts include a 12-year warranty on the cart, three-year warranty on the electronics and will be available in early summer of 2016. Both the carts and MiX Modules are listed to the UL 60950-1 standard to ensure safety, and they ship fully assembled, minimizing setup upon delivery.
The Mobility MiX, PureCharge MiX and PowerSync MiX carts will be offered exclusively through Apple for education customers in North America. They will be available through Apple and select Authorized Resellers for all other customers.
