SAP Ariba Drives Nearly One Trillion in Commerce

More than 2 million buyers and sellers leverage company’s comprehensive source-to-pay solutions and business network to simply and efficiently manage relationships and spend

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--Supply chain management isn’t a set of discreet tasks performed in silos. It’s a connected process carried out across many functions and geographies. And the solutions used to drive it need to be linked and support this process from end to end. In 2015, more than two million buyers and sellers around the world tapped into the comprehensive source-to-pay solutions and business network offered by SAP Ariba, to digitize their supply chains and more simply and efficiently manage their trading relationships and spend. And in the process, they drove nearly one trillion in commerce.

“Supply chains around the world are undergoing radical modernization as companies leverage technology to improve processes and change the way that work gets done,” said Dana Gardner, Principal, Interarbor Solutions. “The key to success in this new, digital era lies in networking multiple parties and systems using a common platform that supports the entire source-to-settle process and provides a gateway for collaboration — both within and beyond the enterprise — on a global scale.”

Digitizing the Enterprise

Through its cloud-based source-to-pay solutions and business network, SAP Ariba provides a single, integrated platform and easy-to-use interface through which companies can manage all of their customers, partners and spend and collaborate around key business processes – from procurement and finance to sales and marketing.

And global companies are taking advantage of the solutions to transform their operations. During the fourth quarter of 2015, many leading global brands added SAP Ariba to their technology portfolios, including:

  • Jaguar Land Rover, the UK’s largest automotive manufacturing business, which will use Ariba® Sourcing, Ariba Contract Management and Ariba Supplier Information and Performance Management to drive an end-to-end source-to-pay process, gain greater visibility into contracts and more effectively manage its suppliers.
  • ARAUCO, a forestry company headquartered in Chile, which will implement Ariba sourcing solutions and the Ariba Network™ to support its procure-to-order process from end-to-end. With Ariba solutions, ARAUCO expects to execute sourcing projects faster, identify savings opportunities, reduce on-boarding time for suppliers and improve accuracy of supplier profiles.

“The supply chain today is more digital than ever,” said Alex Atzberger, President, SAP Ariba. “Companies that recognize this and embrace solutions that enable them to capitalize on this trend will not only fuel greater innovation, simplicity and speed, but open new opportunities to create value and business advantage.”
