Tapling brings over 15 years of CEO experience in B2B software to Akana, most recently as CEO of PacketVideo and SDL plc Language Technologies (Language Weaver).

Tapling’s background includes over 20 years of progressive experience in the strategy, growth and financial management of both public and private technology companies across a variety of industries. He joined PacketVideo in 2013 as the company’s CEO. At SDL plc Language Technologies, he led the company’s launch of the first commercial SaaS application for high speed statistical machine translation after its acquisition of Language Weaver. Tapling has been recognized as one of the Top 100 People to Watch in Knowledge Management and is a recipient of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. He received his B.S. from Michigan State University.
