ASHTABULA, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gabriel Performance Products, a U.S.-based specialty chemicals company, announces the acquisition of InChem Corporation’s (“InChem”) proprietary Phenoxy Resin business.
Based in Rock Hill, SC, InChem manufactures Phenoxy Resins® which are distinguished by their clear, tough, and flexible characteristics and are used in coatings, inks, composites, tires, carbon fibers, and numerous other products. The Phenoxy Resin product line includes solid resins in pellet and powder form, waterborne, and solvent solutions, and is sold directly and through distributors to customers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
“The acquisition of InChem’s Phenoxy Resin business is a significant milestone in Gabriel’s strategy to expand our specialty, proprietary product offering within the coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (CASE) markets,” said Seth Tomasch, CEO of Gabriel Performance Products. “The acquisition expands our research and development, laboratory, technical, production, and commercial capabilities. We enthusiastically welcome the Phenoxy team members to Gabriel and look forward to working together to grow the business.”
Steve Crownshaw, President of InChem, said, “We are excited to see Gabriel and the Phenoxy business come together, enabling the Phenoxy business to accelerate growth through Gabriel’s focus on the CASE market and allowing the InChem organization to execute its strategy of providing toll and custom manufacturing solutions to the marketplace.”
InChem’s Phenoxy Resin business brings an experienced sales, operations, and technical team and long-term customer relationships. Following the transaction, the product line will be rebranded as “Gabriel Phenoxies”. InChem’s Rock Hill facility will serve as Gabriel’s second production plant. The acquisition follows Gabriel’s recently announced acquisition of the BASF Versamid® polyamide curing agent product line.
