Weelin Loh Promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing, China and Asia, Warner Bros. Pictures International

BURBANK, Calif.--()--Reflecting the growing importance of China’s feature film market, two Warner Bros. Pictures International executives have been promoted. Erlina Suharjono has been elevated to Executive Vice President/Managing Director, China and Asia, and Weelin Loh has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing, China and Asia. This announcement was made today by Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, Worldwide Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Suharjono will report in to Warner Bros. Pictures in Burbank. She will also work closely with Richard Fox, Executive Vice President, International, who is relocating to China in 2016 to further develop the Studio’s businesses there as well as set up recently announced Warner Bros./China Media Capital's co-production joint venture, Flagship Entertainment. Loh will continue to report to Suharjono.

Suharjono most recently served as Senior Vice President, Asia Distribution and Managing Director, China and Hong Kong for Warner Bros. Pictures International. A 20-year Studio veteran, Suharjono became Regional Supervisor for Asia in 2000, overseeing the marketing and distribution of all Warner Bros. product and local acquisitions with affiliate offices and licensees throughout the region. Since that time, Erlina and her team have helped the Studio generate $4.5 billion in regional box office, with more than a third coming from China alone.

Suharjono began her career at Pavilion Theatres Sdn Bhd (PTSB), the Malaysian subsidiary of the Cathay Organization. She first joined Warner Bros. in 1993 in theatrical marketing in Hong Kong, returned to the Cathay Organization in 1998 and then rejoined Warner Bros. in 2000 as Asia Regional Marketing Director and Hong Kong General Manager. From that position she was promoted to Vice President and then Senior Vice President.

Loh most recently served as Vice President, China and Asia Marketing for Warner Bros. Pictures International, responsible for all aspects of Warner Bros. Pictures’ marketing, advertising, digital, publicity and promotions in Asia. Since joining the Studio in 2001, she has overseen the implementation of many successful marketing campaigns for a diverse slate of films in Asia, including the blockbuster releases of the Harry Potter films, “The Dark Knight” trilogy, “The Hobbit” series, highly acclaimed “Argo” and “American Sniper,” horror films such as “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle,” and many more.

Loh has also held posts at the Cathay Organization, as well as Warner Bros. Consumer Products as Regional Manager, Retail Business Development and Live Events.
