SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(NASDAQ:AMZN)—Amazon today announced that Amazon customers and Prime members in the U.S. and U.K. have access to original children’s music with the debut of two new children’s albums— Great Pretenders Club by The Pop Ups, a GRAMMY-nominated children’s musical duo, and Nursery Rhyme Parade! by GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb. The Pop Ups album, Great Pretenders Club is available for kids and their parents to listen to starting today; while Amazon customers can now pre-order Lisa Loeb’s new album, available for digital release on October 16. And both albums are available for purchase as either download or physical CD format.
“We want to make Prime Music the destination where people of all ages go to discover and listen to great music, whether that’s the latest indie band, chart topping pop or the best in children’s music—we know that kids and parents will be delighted by the fun, original and exclusive songs on these two new albums,” said Steve Boom, VP of Digital Music for Amazon. “GRAMMY-nominated artists like The Pop Ups and Lisa Loeb are a great addition to the Amazon family – Prime members will love listening to these great new kids’ songs, anytime, anywhere.”
“We’re excited to bring our new album to Amazon, and can’t wait for families to listen, dance and have fun with these songs together,” said The Pop Ups’ Jason Rabinowitz and Jacob Stein. “We love making kids happy through music, know that Great Pretenders Club will do just that!”
“I’m a Prime member and Amazon has always been one of my favorite and go-to destinations for everything from music to shoes, diapers, movies, and more; and as a mom that convenience is truly unbeatable to me,” said Lisa Loeb. “I am thrilled to now bring this new collection of songs to the Prime Music platform, where kids, and even their parents, can sing along and enjoy.”
The Pop Ups’ Great Pretenders Club marks the Brooklyn musical duo’s fourth full album, bringing together a collection of 11 original songs. Through danceable electro-pop beat and smart lyrics, the album looks to engage children in imaginative play as a means of exploration and learning with their environment and others. Guest artists include GRAMMY nominated multi-instrumentalist, composer and lyricist Jarle Bernhoft and children’s voices and characters from The Pop Ups’ puppet family also contribute to the joyous wall of sound. Amazon will also be releasing music videos to accompany each song on the album, starting with the video for ‘Bird and Rhino’ available today, here http://www.amazon.com/dp/B015WZZZW0.
Lisa Loeb’s fourth children’s album, Nursery Rhyme Parade!, is a collection of more than 30 familiar nursery rhymes and songs. The album includes guest artists such as singer-songwriter Renee Stahl, with children’s voices rounding out the inviting and joyful tone of the album.
