WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Codan Radio Communications, a division of Codan Limited (ASX-CDA), has announced the award of a $1.1 million order for its new Stratus Network from a government agency in the United States.
The award is the first significant sale of Stratus since its launch at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) in March. Stratus is being trialed by multiple U.S. agencies, with smaller Stratus sales already completed, demonstrating its wide scale adoption within the public safety industry.
Stratus is a hybrid P25 and LTE (3G/4G) deployable network that integrates the strengths of the two technologies to provide secure wide area voice networks. A complete Stratus network consists of the Stratus repeater, power center, tactical server and rapid antenna, with a complete Stratus network deployable by a single person within 5 minutes.
“Customers are impressed by the ability of Stratus to be deployed instantaneously, without any technical training required. With its quick integration into an existing P25 network, Stratus is giving customers the ability to communicate within their network from any location, from on the street to within buildings, eliminating black spots experienced so frequently by the majority of our customers,” said Ben Pearce, Director of Sales at Codan Radio Communications.
The LTE link within the Stratus provides reliable P25 network connectivity anywhere with cellular coverage while providing the highest level of encryption through double layer protection with P25 AES-DES encryption and a secure VPN connection into a local area network. Interoperable with all P25 subscriber units, Stratus provides an investment in the safety and security of its users and the community.
