GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Beginning today, Bellco members will become some of the first credit union members in Colorado to have the ability to use Apple Pay for purchases at participating stores. Apple Pay provides an easy, private and secure way to make in-store payments from Bellco accounts using an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus or Apple Watch; or within apps from the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3.

Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. Instead of using Bellco credit or debit card numbers to make a payment, Apple Pay assigns members a unique, encrypted Device Account Number, meaning actual credit and debit card numbers are never stored on these devices or on Apple’s servers. During a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process the payment.
Apple Pay is simple to set up and use, and is more private and secure than using a card because the cashier never sees the buyer’s name, card number, or security code.
