Fitzgerald spent five years as head of DCAA, overseeing the agency’s $600 million budget and 5,000 professionals who provide contract audit and advisory services to Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian agency procurement professionals.
His extensive experience with financial management, government contracting, acquisition planning, and organizational dynamics will further strengthen Baker Tilly’s ability to bring well-rounded perspectives and solutions to its government contractor clients.

Before taking the helm at DCAA, Fitzgerald spent the majority of his career rising though the ranks at the Army Audit Agency, culminating in him leading the Agency as the Auditor General of the Army. Fitzgerald is a certified public accountant, certified information systems auditor, certified government financial manager and has testified before Congress.
