Envelop VR Raises $2 Million Seed Round to Build its Enterprise Software for Virtual Reality

The new software experience enables businesses and consumers to create, work and play in an immersive virtual reality environment

BELLEVUE, Wash.--()--Envelop VR, an enterprise software company that is leading businesses and consumers to virtual reality, announced today that it has secured $2 million in seed funding. The round was backed by a number of prominent local and national angel investors including Hank Vigil and Fritz Lanman (Acequia Capital), Rudy Gadre, Shana Fisher (High Line Venture Partners), Howard Morgan, Geoff Entress, and Sujal Patel, among others.

Envelop VR is creating enterprise and productivity software that allows businesses and consumers to create, work and play in a virtual reality environment. A key feature of the software will allow virtual reality (VR) content developers to work and create content while in their own 3D, immersive environment (VRinVR). This will alleviate the troublesome task of constantly switching between their 2D tools and 3D environments, vastly improving developer productivity and enhancing the experience both for those creating content and also for the end user. The seed round funding will be used to continue the design and development of its software offering, as well as to help build out its staff.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with such an incredible group of investors who bring deep expertise in technology and strategic partnerships, and have been at the forefront of early adoption in their respective sectors,” said Bob Berry, co-founder and CEO of Envelop VR.

“I believe Envelop VR’s software will help accelerate the implementation of virtual reality by vastly improving the workflow for developers, as well as businesses who want to use the medium to help solve for critical workplace visualization challenges,” said Sujal Patel, former Isilon Systems founder and CEO. “This will allow for more quality content to be developed and ensure a much more enjoyable experience for the masses.”

“The uses for virtual reality experiences are truly limitless and will be implemented by a number of industries, including entertainment, commerce, finance, education and medicine, over the next several years, “ said Geoff Entress, a Seattle-based super angel. “Envelop VR has the talent and expertise to create the solutions that will provide for a trusted, immersive and persistent environment that is bound to help move this nascent industry in the right direction.”

“Virtual reality, the technology that’s been 10 years away for 40 years, is finally here,” said Berry. “Our vision at Envelop is to realize VR’s full potential and use it to enrich our lives and the world around us.”
