TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DisplayLink, the leading provider of USB graphics technology today officially launched the new DisplayLink Desktop Android App on the Google Play Store. The free App enables users with DisplayLink enabled docking stations to dock their ARM based Android Smartphones and Tablets to a large display, full keyboard, and mouse. DisplayLink will be demonstrating this and much more at the W Hotel Taipei, during Computex, from June 3rd to 5th.
“DisplayLink users can now have the best of both worlds – for free. DisplayLink’s new App enables workers to connect Android Smartphones and tablets to any of the millions of DisplayLink enabled docking stations deployed globally, providing users with a desktop environment that ‘just works’. We believe this new App marks the start of a new era as workers move towards thin-and-light devices and adopt a mobile working environment. IT administrators and infrastructure managers can now confidently deploy Android Smartphones as productivity tools along with Windows and MacOSX devices,” said John Cummins, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing. “Further, office productivity apps such as Google Docs or Microsoft Office for Android really benefit when connected to a full size monitor, keyboard, and mouse.”
The first version of the App, available today on the Google Play Store, targets productivity workers who want the best of both worlds. They now have a highly mobile device that can be docked to create content with a workstation look and feel. The first version provides 1080p resolution when connected to a monitor.
