ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On February 24th, the Institute for Healthcare Information Technology (IHIT) will be joining Georgia health IT leaders and Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle for Health IT Day at the Georgia State Capitol.
Health IT Day at the Capitol aligns with recent IHIT initiatives that bring together business, education and government to support Georgia’s leadership in the Healthcare IT industry. The event will be presented by TAG Health, in partnership with Georgia HIMSS and the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle will announce a resolution proclaiming February 24th as Health IT Day at the Capitol, and a luncheon panel will feature industry leaders Robert Hendricks, SVP, CTO and CIO, McKesson Technology Solutions; Paul Gue, Chief Information Officer, HealthPort Technologies; and Jim Denny, Founder & CEO of Navicure, Inc.
The panel will discuss the important role health IT plays in terms of jobs, economic impact and investment, and afternoon meetings will include advocacy/legislative meetings and select hearings.
