Hurricane Electric Connects in the Netherlands with a Second Point-of-Presence in Amsterdam

Strong European demand for premium connectivity options drives company’s latest expansion

AMSTERDAM--()--Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone, today announced that it has added a new Point of Presence (PoP) at TeleCity’s AMS 2 facility in Amsterdam, located at Kuiperbergweg 13, Amsterdam, Netherlands.

TeleCity is connected across Europe’s major business centers, and Hurricane Electric’s PoP at TeleCity’s AMS 2 is located in the business area Amsterdam-Southeast, one of the most important connectivity hubs in the Netherlands. As Hurricane Electric’s second PoP in Amsterdam, customers of AMS 2 will experience improved fault tolerance, load balancing and congestion management infrastructure capabilities for the delivery of both IPv4 and IPv6 access services. AMS 2 customers will also have the opportunity to exchange traffic with Hurricane Electric’s global network.

“Hurricane Electric is excited to strengthen our presence in Amsterdam with a new Point-of-Presence at TeleCity,” said Mike Leber, President of Hurricane Electric. “Our commitment to the Netherlands brings customers of AMS 2 100GE (100 Gigabit Ethernet), 10GE (10 gigabit Ethernet), GigE (1 gigabit Ethernet) and 100BaseT network connections, as well as overall increased network capacity. This second Amsterdam PoP will help meet the increased demand for premium network connectivity within Amsterdam’s business markets.”
