BOSTON--()--Two of the nation’s most iconic ‘90s bands, Goo Goo Dolls and Shaggy, will team up to perform at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay’s 16th annual Big Night on Saturday, February 7 at the House of Blues Boston. The event is the organization’s largest fundraiser and most rocking upscale party, which raises money to support relationships between 2,000 youth and their adult mentors in communities throughout Massachusetts Bay.

Goo Goo Dolls will perform a mix of some of their top-hit singles, which include “Iris” and “Slide,” and songs off their latest studio album, Magnetic. Shaggy will bring his reggae flair with Grammy-winning hits like “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.”

“We’re honored to come to Boston to rock out for a great cause,” said John Rzeznik, vocalist and guitarist of the Goo Goo Dolls. “It’s going to be an awesome night, and it’s great that it will support the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay mentoring initiative.”

Big Night, named one of Boston Herald’s “Most Fabulous Fetes of 2014,” has made its mark as Boston’s hottest fundraising event. From a delectable menu of food and cocktails, to an energetic live auction, to a stage lit up by top musical performers, Big Night is an event to remember. Billy Costa and Lisa Donovan, co-hosts of Kiss 108’s Matty in the Morning show, will emcee this year’s event.

“For the past 15 years, Big Night – one of the highest energy and most anticipated events in Boston – has been a powerful fundraising tool for our organization,” said Wendy Foster, chief executive officer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay. “With more than $26 million raised to-date from the event, the unwavering support from our community has helped us reach thousands of children who need us most.”

This year, Big Night’s goal is to raise $1.6 million, which will help support existing mentor relationships and attract new volunteers to be matched with the more than 900 youth across Massachusetts Bay who are currently on the waiting list for a Big Brother or Sister.
