WP Engine Reports Record Growth Across Customers, Employees and U.S. Office Locations

Sustaining a year-over-year growth rate in excess of 100%, WP Engine surpasses 23,000 customers with offices in San Francisco, Austin and San Antonio

AUSTIN, Texas--()--WP Engine, a leading platform as a service for websites and applications built on WordPress, today announced that the company has surpassed 23,000 customers with 200,000 + domains, representing a customer increase of 130 percent in the last 12 months. The company has expanded its offices in Austin, San Antonio and San Francisco to 195 employees – almost a 150 percent growth over the same time period. The company anticipates exiting 2014 with more than 220 employees as the company continues to add talent to its customer support, customer experience, development, sales and marketing teams.

Customer Growth:

Recent customers wins include VentureBeat, Etsy, Arnette, Moko Social Media and The Humane Society of the United States. This adds to a customer list already including SoundCloud and The Rolling Stones.

Workforce Diversity:

Over the last year, WP Engine has expanded its seasoned executive team to include a high ratio of women in leadership roles. Fifty percent of the executive team is female, with 35 percent in management roles across all functions. WP Engine also joined forces with MakersSquare, an Austin-based software development boot camp and immersive education program, to offer a “Women in Tech” scholarship grant. Additionally, WP Engine regularly hosts and sponsors industry conferences including: Women Who Code, WordPress Austin, and the Affiliate Summit Meetup in Austin.
