JENKINTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rosalyn McPherson, Paul Schreiber and Suzanne Yoon to its Board of Trustees. NPT is the nation’s largest independent donor-advised fund charitable organization and among the top grantmaking institutions.
McPherson, CEO of the Urban League of Philadelphia, is a former NPT board member who has been reappointed to a third term. Eileen Heisman, President and CEO of NPT, said, “Roz was part of NPT during a period of major growth and development. I value her guidance and experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors, and am delighted she is rejoining the Board.”
Schreiber is Of Counsel at global law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP and the founder of its Investment Funds/Asset Management Group. “Paul has substantial experience with US and international securities, which will serve National Philanthropic Trust well as we expand the donor-advised fund market overseas with the launch of NPT-UK and continue our work with high-net worth donors,” said Heisman. “I am very pleased that Paul is willing to share his extensive expertise with us.”
Yoon is a Chicago-based private-equity investment professional and a member of numerous local boards. “Suzanne’s financial background will be invaluable to National Philanthropic Trust. I am grateful that she has agreed to lend her financial and business acumen to our Board.”
Rosalyn McPherson
Rosalyn McPherson is the President and CEO of the Urban League of Philadelphia. For nearly 10 years prior, she was the founder and President of The ROZ Group, Inc., which provided marketing, communications, business planning and fundraising expertise. The ROZ Group was named one of the Top 50 Minority Firms by the Philadelphia Business Journal for two straight years. In addition to serving as a trustee for National Philanthropic Trust, she is also on the Board of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania, First Person Arts, and the Philadelphia Advertising Club. McPherson holds an MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ) and a BS in Secondary Education from Southern University & A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA.
Paul Schreiber
Paul Schreiber, a long-time partner at global law firm Shearman & Sterling and now Of Counsel with the firm, has focused his practice in the asset management area for over 30 years. He has a broad background in corporate finance, securities and futures regulations and has written and lectured extensively on the Investment Company Act of 1940, ERISA, securities and other financial issues. He has been named in Best Lawyers in America Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and U.S. Legal 500. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He is a graduate of City College of New York (BS) and New York University School of Law (JD and LLM).
Suzanne Yoon
Suzanne Yoon is a Managing Director for Versa Capital Management. Prior to joining Versa, her career included positions with CIT Group, LaSalle Bank/ABNAMRO’s Corporate Restructuring Group, and Ernst and Young’s Restructuring Advisory Group. Yoon is currently a steering committee member of Private Equity’s Women Investor Network (PE WIN) and of the Women’s Association of Venture & Equity (WAVE) and maintains active involvement with Turnaround Management Association, where she was Board Trustee; and American Bankruptcy Institute, where she formerly co-chaired its Finance Committee. In addition, she is active in Chicago community activities, including her service on the Board of Directors for HFS Chicago Scholars, a not for profit that serves economically disadvantaged Chicago inner-city high school students. She holds a BA in Economics from University of Iowa.
