HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nuix, a technology company that enables people to make fact-based decisions from unstructured data, has promoted Dr. James Kent to a leadership role in the North American market focusing on investigations, cybersecurity and the government sector. Dr. Kent continues his existing positions as Global Head of Investigations and Cybersecurity and CEO of Nuix EMEA from his new base in Herndon, Virginia.
Dr. Kent is a pioneering digital forensics investigator and eDiscovery consultant who joined Nuix in January 2012 as CEO of Nuix EMEA and was appointed Global Head of the Nuix Investigations business in August 2013. He has more than 20 years’ experience in law enforcement and the government, financial and commercial sectors. Dr. Kent also serves as an advisor to ITU-IMPACT, the cybersecurity executing arm of the United Nations.
Prior to joining Nuix, Dr. Kent held senior positions at a leading investigations and security practice and worked as a detective for the Suffolk Constabulary. He began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer, quickly rising through the ranks from a plain-clothes officer to a senior criminal investigator. He then built a high-tech crime unit that successfully processed more than 200 crimes annually. Dr. Kent received his Doctor of Science (h.c) from the University of Bedfordshire.
