DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Katie Brewer, Certified Financial Planner and President of Your Richest Life, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon meeting of the Women’s Energy Network (WEN) – North Texas Chapter on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the Fort Worth Petroleum Club, 777 Main Street #4000. John Hughes, Consultant at Wilson Perumal & Company, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon meeting of WEN on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the Dallas Petroleum Club, 2200 Ross Avenue. Registration for both events will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by the luncheon from noon-1:00 p.m.
Brewer will present a discussion titled, “The 5 Financial Mistakes that Professional Women Make that Will Come Back to Bite Them.” A question-and-answer session will follow her presentation.
Brewer founded Your Richest Life after working with clients and their finances for more than ten years. As a financial coach, she helps clients clarify their financial goals, identify and eliminate obstacles to those goals, and create a financial action plan to achieve them. Prior to Your Richest Life, Brewer worked with financial technology pioneer LearnVest, large companies such as Thrivent Financial, as well as smaller boutique firms focused on high net worth individuals. Her financial planning experience includes balancing retirement planning with debt payoff, identifying budget mistakes, investing in first and second homes, and maximizing employee benefits to create wealth, among others.
Brewer has been quoted in articles in The New York Times, Forbes, Lifehacker, and Real Simple, and she regularly blogs about financial planning topics. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Texas Tech University, and she completed her Personal Financial Planning coursework at Southern Methodist University.

Hughes will present a talk titled, “Water Recycling in the Permian Basin,” at the September Dallas luncheon. A question-and-answer session will follow his presentation.
Hughes is a Consultant at Wilson Perumal & Company, an international consulting firm assisting companies in the oil and gas, and many other industries, to capture opportunities and mitigate challenges in strategy, operations, risk, and complexity management. Hughes has over 20 years of experience in leading, building, and participating in operations-decision support and financial-analysis teams in a variety of premier organizations and industries including Texas Pacific Group and Bain Capital. He has completed a diverse range of engagements including: off-shore manufacturing feasibility study in the Mercosur (Mercado Comun do Sul, or Southern Common Market), supplier rationalization of glass bottle manufacturers in Sub-Saharan Africa, marketing program effectiveness modeling for a national e-commerce retailer, business valuation of a CPG "carve-out" in Brazil, and strategic planning for a financial services firm which led to a quintupling of operating profit, among many others.
Hughes earned an MBA in International Management and Finance from the Irish Management Institute in Dublin (with Fordham University), a Certificate in Strategic Leadership from Penn State Executive Programs, and a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from LeMoyne College. He resides in Dallas.
