HILLSBORO, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eid Passport, Inc., a market leader in high-assurance identity management solutions and the largest commercial provider of vendor credentials at military facilities, has secured placement on the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Qualified Technology List (QTL) for the company’s RAPID-RCx® Program. The RAPID-RCx Program adds multi-credential scan, read, and verify capabilities to the RAPIDGate® System, and helps users quickly and securely authenticate TWIC and other government-issued credentials for streamlined facility or vessel access.
Commercial maritime facilities and vessels subject to TSA and Coast Guard regulations require persons entering secure areas of a facility or vessel to present a valid TWIC, which may be subject to inspection using a QTL-listed TWIC reader. The RAPID-RCx Program electronically validates the TWIC using a portable handheld device to determine the validity of the card and confirm it has not been tampered with or placed on TSA’s Cancelled Card List. The program also provides multi-factor authentication by using the digital ID image and fingerprints stored on the card’s chip so additional authentication can be conducted on the person requesting access.
To receive TWIC QTL approval from the TSA, the company’s RAPID-RCx Program passed stringent testing, executed by accredited testing laboratory atsec information security, to demonstrate that the program and equipment perform reliably.
“It is a significant achievement to be recognized as a compliant technology provider based on TSA QTL specifications. We are pleased to receive this designation,” said Steve Larson, chairman and CEO of Eid Passport. “High-assurance identity management is our business. We now offer maritime terminal operators a unique, portable solution through our RAPID-RCx Program and bring the benefits of this field-proven solution to the commercial U.S. flag fleet and the hundreds of United States ports.”
The RAPID-RCx Program fully integrates with the RAPIDGate Program, which provides high-assurance identity management for more than 150 critical infrastructure military and other government sites worldwide, mitigating risk by streamlining authentication and verification for authorized personnel. The RAPID-RCx Program also supports the following features:
- Adheres to FIPS 140-2 Secure Connection Protocols
- Validates PIV and PIV-I credentials tied to the FBCA (Federal Bridge Certificate Authority)
- Verifies TWIC to the TSA TCCL (TWIC Cancelled Card List)

-
Cross-checks credentials against:
- Local installation barment/no-entry/no-work lists
