GREEN BAY, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Healtheway, the non-profit, public-private collaborative that supports the eHealth Exchange, and IOD Incorporated, a leading provider of integrated health information management (HIM) solutions for hospitals, healthcare systems and clinics, today announced that IOD PRISM 6.2 is now recognized as an eHealth Exchange validated system. As the first HIM HIT vendor to receive validation, IOD’s customers will experience a significantly reduced level of effort and cost associated with onboarding to the eHealth Exchange through the PRISM platform.
The eHealth Exchange is a growing community of exchange partners, who share health information under a common trust framework and set of rules. Healtheway is the non-profit organization that supports the eHealth Exchange, as well as the eHealth Exchange Product Testing Program, which tests conformance to the specifications and underlying health information exchange (HIE) standards required to onboard with the network.
“Healtheway developed the eHealth Exchange Product Testing Program to provide a high level of assurance that the products that earn validation are interoperable with other systems, while conforming to the eHealth Exchange performance specifications,” says Mariann Yeager, CEO of Healtheway. “PRISM 6.2 successfully passed our rigorous set of required conformance tests and IOD’s customers can expect an expedited onboarding process.”
PRISM 6.2 is the core technology utilized by IOD in its release of information product and service offering. As an eHealth Exchange Validated product, PRISM 6.2 users will have efficient access to the eHealth Exchange that simplifies the onboarding process and makes the power of the eHealth Exchange available to IOD’s 2,700 hospitals and clinics. This allows IOD’s customers to be proficiently interoperable with four federal agencies, five states, dozens of Health Information Organizations (HIOs) and health systems, which represent hundreds of hospitals, thousands of providers and millions of patients that are currently part of the network.
“IOD is committed to bringing innovative, efficient and cost effective solutions to our customers,” said George Abatjoglou, CEO of IOD. “As the first HIM HIT vendor to be certified as an eHealth Exchange validated system, we are taking the steps necessary to meet that promise in a way that directly addresses many of the interoperability challenges that exist in healthcare today.”
