Indiana Debuts Redesigned IN.gov Website

New website delivers personalized information and increased access

INDIANAPOLIS--()--Indiana is proud to announce the launch of the State’s redesigned public website, IN.gov. IN.gov uniquely manages the growing need for personally relevant information to be available for all Hoosiers across multiple devices, and now offers individual personalization and extensive mobile access. The new website is developed via a partnership between Indiana Office of Technology, Indiana Interactive, and Ball State University’s Emerging Technology Unit.

IN.gov’s new design integrates quicker navigation to state agencies and greater access to government transparency. If you are a current resident, state visitor, potential transfer, business owner, or even a student, the home page provides necessary information and links to all things Indiana-related. Visitors to the website will also notice the monthly updated IN History image shown in the background that highlights specific Indiana locations and past historic events.

Internal research and web analytics have proven a dramatic shift on how Hoosiers interact with the online presence of the State of Indiana. IN.gov has logged over 3.8 million website hits per month, with 40 percent of those being from a mobile device. A major focus during this project was to implement the latest responsive design practices. Hoosiers are now able to quickly and easily navigate through IN.gov without the need for a large desktop monitor or time-consuming text entry. Most state and agency information is available with the swipe of a finger or touch of a screen.

IN.gov consists of over 55,000 webpages with more than 200 services that are offered online. In an effort to provide Indiana residents with individually pertinent information, the redesigned website allows Hoosiers to create a personal profile and dashboard using Facebook, Twitter, or standard registration process. Subsequent visits only require a single click to load your preferences, menu items, and more. Subscribers have the ability to navigate instantly to the agencies and services that they are most likely to use, plus receive news updates based on topics of interest.
