WOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Culbert Healthcare Solutions, a professional services firm serving healthcare organizations across the country, announced today that Alan Worsham and Jae Schmidt have been named practice directors for the firm’s executive management consulting group. In these roles, they will lead consultant teams in providing strategic services to healthcare providers in the areas of executive leadership, operations and IT.
As practice director, Worsham will leverage his diverse background in operations and IT to assist healthcare organizations with operational strategy and IT optimization. Additionally, he will organize and lead a healthcare informatics team that will support the business intelligence needs of Culbert customers. Schmidt brings extensive experience in academic medicine and expertise in interdisciplinary care models to his role at Culbert. He will work to further the firm’s interim management support for existing academic medical center customers and foster new relationships in the space.
Worsham comes to Culbert from Sutter Health where he led operations for Independent Practice Solutions, a business unit providing technology and business solutions to independent physician practices across northern California. Prior to his work at Sutter, he was Executive Director for Information Systems at Washington University School of Medicine where his responsibilities included chief information services and process improvement for their faculty practice plan. He is a past president of the GE/IDX Midwest User Group. Worsham holds a Master of Business Administration with a healthcare emphasis from Washington University.
Schmidt previously served as clinical administrator for the Department of Neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine, one of the nation’s top neurosurgical programs, and was responsible for all business and financial operations. Additionally, he worked as administrator and senior business manager in the departments of rehabilitation medicine and otolaryngology at Emory. Jae earned his Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
“The changing healthcare environment has required healthcare organizations to reexamine their executive management strategies so as to ensure they have the right people designing and implementing key initiatives,” said Rob Culbert, president and CEO of Culbert. “Worsham and Schmidt are ideal fits for guiding our customers in these areas, and we look forward to having them on board as they strengthen our executive management practice area.”
