ShopRunner Sprints Out of the Gates in 2014 with New Retailers and Tremendous Growth

Membership to Popular Online Shopping Service Doubles as Cole Haan, Spanx and Moosejaw Join Retailer Network

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--As online shoppers increasingly choose convenient shopping experiences from trustworthy brands, ShopRunner, a members-only service that offers unique benefits from prominent retailers, is experiencing rapid growth from consumers and retailers alike.

With the expansion of its partnership with American Express in Q4 2013, ShopRunner has grown its member base of active online shoppers by more than 100 percent over the prior year. These shoppers value the convenience of free 2-day shipping from trusted retailers and are consolidating their spending with retailers that are part of ShopRunner’s network. ShopRunner gross merchandise sales nearly doubled during the holiday period, and same store sales increased by over 50 percent year-over-year; substantially more than the eCommerce industry growth.

As a result of this substantial growth, more high quality retailers are turning to ShopRunner to increase sales and build loyalty with ShopRunner’s unique member base. In the first quarter of 2014 alone, 15 new retailers have signed up to join ShopRunner including: Cole Haan, Moosejaw, Spanx, Sole Society, TaylorMade and many more. These retailers join a growing network of premier retailers that already includes Brooks Brothers, Neiman Marcus, Calvin Klein, Toys“R”Us, Drugstore.com and nearly 100 other retailers that join together to provide their best shoppers with benefits like fast and free 2-day shipping, easy and free return shipping, 2-click checkout, shipment tracking and special offers.

In addition to its network growth, ShopRunner now has 80 employees and is planning to grow headcount by more than 50 percent in 2014. The company continues to add to its team of industry-leading professionals including recent hires:

  • Dan Dmochowski, chief revenue officer of ShopRunner, who was formerly president of the Blackhawk Network and SVP of sales and client services at CoolSavings;
  • Megan Hanley, chief marketing officer of ShopRunner, who was formerly the GM of global media at Microsoft and VP of direct marketing at Esurance.

“ShopRunner continues to attract industry-leading talent, build our retailer network with the best eCommerce brands and deliver tremendous value for our retailers and members,” said Scott Thompson, CEO of ShopRunner. “We are incredibly bullish about the future of our business and 2014 is shaping up to be a break-out year for ShopRunner.”
