BLOOMINGDALE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ:PCTI), a leader in simplifying wireless and site solutions for private and public networks, announced the launch of its new dual-band WiFi antennas for in-building wireless networks at the Aruba Networks® Airheads Conference 2014. PCTEL’s new MIMO flat panel antenna maximizes data throughput. The MIMO antenna’s pattern control achieves excellent indoor performance with minimal interference. PCTEL will also be featuring a dual-band miniature ceiling mount WiFi antenna at the conference.
PCTEL’s new 802.11n MIMO WiFi panel antenna provides four-port diversity coverage of 2.4-2.5 GHz WiFi and 4.9-5.9 GHz broadband wireless frequencies in an attractive, compact package. It is designed with UL 94-V0 listed plastic and PC boards to address strict building safety codes for indoor installations. Multi-port MIMO functionality and optimized radiation pattern design enables high data throughput levels for data-intensive applications. It is ideal for enclosure, wall, or mast mount installations in classrooms, hospitals, office buildings, or retail establishments.
The miniature ceiling mount omnidirectional antenna (MCMI2458 series) provides high performance wideband coverage of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi bands without tuning. The antenna’s housing is only 2 mm thick, 42 mm tall, and 31 mm wide. This tiny footprint provides minimum visibility on a ceiling tile installation.
“Education, healthcare, enterprise, and other sectors place great emphasis on both the performance and aesthetics of their WiFi networks,” said Jeff Miller, President of PCTEL Connected Solutions. "PCTEL’s latest carrier-grade WiFi antennas fill important gaps in the market for attractive, high performance antennas. We will continue to develop solutions that are technologically market relevant, while meeting the demanding requirements of in-building wireless installations,” added Miller.
