SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DR Systems, a leader in Enterprise Imaging Informatics and six time Best in KLAS PACS, announced today that its cloud-based eHR and patient engagement solution have received the 2014 Edition ONC HIT Certification as a complete ambulatory Certified Electronic Health Record System (CEHRT) from InfoGard, an Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB). The DR Systems EHR incorporates the Health Companion® patient communication platform as relied upon software for secure patient messaging and other consumer-centric features.
DR Systems first received certification for the 2011 Edition for Meaningful Use Stage 1 in February, 2012. Currently, more than 2500 radiologists and anesthesiologists are using the DR Systems eHR to provide patient services including messaging, marketing, education, pre-registration, as well as results and clinical summary delivery in accordance with the CMS EHR Incentive Program requirements.
July 1, 2014 is the last day for first year, stage 1 eligible professionals (EP) to begin participation the EHR Incentive Program and still earn a bonus of up to $24,000 per professional. EP must complete attestation before October 1, 2014 in order to avoid the 2015 payment penalty of 1%. EP in their second year or more for participation must report data for one calendar quarter, beginning no later than October 1, 2014.
