BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Health Dialog today announced Jeffrey Kraines, MD, has joined Health Dialog as Vice President, Medical Director. Bringing over 25 years of experience as a senior healthcare executive, Kraines will oversee the medical and clinical aspects of Health Dialog products and services to ensure that their quality and clinical relevance remain at the highest levels.
In his new role, Kraines will provide medical insight and direction to Health Dialog’s population based wellness, care management, and Shared Decision Making programs. Additionally, he will work closely with other members of the Health Dialog leadership team to collaborate with and support the continued development of our provider based population health services.

A veteran in the healthcare industry, Kraines brings an extensive background across the managed care, pharma/biotech and consulting industries. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Global Medical Affairs for Genzyme Corporation where he was responsible for all post marketing clinical activities and programs for a multi-therapeutic portfolio. In addition, Kraines provided strategic and tactical support to the sales, marketing and government affairs teams; directed relations with managed care organizations and guideline committees; led the professional grant and educational programs; and participated in advocacy development with key professional and patient societies and international thought leaders.
Prior to Genzyme, Kraines had held senior managed care medical director positions with Private Healthcare Systems, Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts and Fallon Community Health Plan. He has managed departments of utilization management, care coordination, disease management, formulary management, quality management and cost control over commercial, Medicare and Medicaid populations. Kraines also worked to implement health care reform, supporting the medical homes and accountable care organizations with their data needs. Kraines’ clinical experience includes the private practice of rheumatology, internal medicine and emergency medicine.
