FREMONT, Calif.--()--TELADATA, a leading consulting firm with vast expertise in design, planning and project management for converging technologies, announced today that its 2014 Technology Convergence Conference (TCC) will feature end-user case studies as part of its returning data center operations track.

The track titled Data Center & Operations Case Studies, will focus on the operations surrounding the high demand for data center performance and efficiency, while providing insight on modeling and designing for scalability, cost challenges, financial support and future growth.

Jason Green, Vice President at GexPro, will moderate a case study panel on IT and facilities project collaboration, titled Real Convergence: Can IT and The Data Center Collectively Benefit The Business Bottom Line?, featuring panelists Jamie Saguindel, Data Center Manager at VMware; Andy Broer, Senior Manager of Data Center Operations at Box; Tim Roche, Senior Facilities Manager at Oracle and Troy Tazbaz, Global Data Center & Lab Design at Oracle.

Mark Honer, Director of IT at Palo Alto Networks, will deliver a presentation titled Modeling & Forecasting Lab Build-Outs, a case study on the challenges with planning and designing a data center to support the growth and business of tomorrow.

In a discussion titled Why Energy Efficient Data Centers are Not Always the Most Profitable Data Centers, Jonathan Koomey, Researcher at Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance for Stanford University, and Owner of Analytics Press, will explore a business-focused view of data center efficiency, grounded in the key performance indicators that should be most important to the companies that own data centers.

Ed Spears, Product Marketing Manager of Critical Power Solutions at Eaton, will deliver a presentation titled Ensuring Energy Efficiency in Today's Muti-Tenant Data Centers, a case study on issues with colocation requirements meeting the high demand for performance and cost.

Serena Devito, Advanced Data Center Engineer at eBay, will provide a case study titled eBay Data Center TCO Modeling, focusing on eBay’s concept and methodology for calculating cost and decisions associated with data center space and usage.

Bruce Myatt, Executive Vice President at The Data Centers LLP, will moderate a Critical Facilities panel discussion on data center monitoring titled DCIM: Integration and Automation. Panelists will include Chandrakant Patel, HP Senior Fellow and Chief Engineer at Hewlett Packard Laboratories and EECS Industrial Advisory Board Member at U.C. Berkeley, Derek Collier, Intel Product Manager for Intel's DCIM Energy Manager and Virtual KVM Manager software applications, and Wayne B. Riley, IBM Senior Technical Staff Member, Smarter Physical Infrastructure Architect, and Data Center Energy Solutions Architect.

“The arrival of smart PDUs, smart phones, and better environmental data from servers all affect traditional facilities’ requirements. There’s a need for extracting the most out of an aging data center and often on a 'shoe-string' budget,” said Andy Broer, Senior Manager of Data Center Operations at Box. “These case studies allow us to expand our network and collaborate with industry peers on solutions and ways of accomplishing these goals.”

TELADATA’s Technology Convergence Conference focuses on providing an environment where IT, facilities and telecommunications professionals can assemble to exchange ideas and best practices relating to the latest technologies in data centers, IT infrastructure, audiovisual and monitoring systems. Expert speakers and resources offer delegates critical information and in-the-trenches tactics to deal effectively with key issues affecting facilities and data centers.
