LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ:WIFI), the leading DAS and Wi-Fi provider that serves consumers, carriers and advertisers worldwide, today announced two featured presentations at the WBA Wi-Fi Global Congress in Beijing, taking place November 18-21.
Next Generation Hotspot, Live: Exploring the First Commercial Deployment
Boingo Senior Vice President of Engineering Derek Peterson will deliver the opening plenary session presentation at 9 a.m. on November 21, titled “The First Commercial Next Generation Hotspot: Challenges and Results.”
The session will explore the deployment and operation of the first live Next Generation Hotspot test bed at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, which Boingo launched in September 2013. In an engaging and interactive discussion with Wireless 20/20 founder Randall Schwartz, Peterson will address the current challenges to industry-wide Next Generation Hotspot roll-out, new opportunities to kick-start adoption, and the latest protocol testing and manufacturer support data.
Wi-Fi and the Data Revolution: The Opportunities
Boingo Vice President of Corporate Communications Christian Gunning will explore emerging trends in leveraging network-based data to build value for stakeholders in his presentation at 16:40 on November 20, “Wi-Fi and the Big Data Revolution: The Advertising Opportunity.”
Taking place during the “Business Cases and Monetization Strategies” sessions, the presentation will provide insights into the latest in Wi-Fi-enabled macro- and micro-targeted advertising and data analytics, as well as opportunities for increased revenue for venues and network operators and enhanced customer service via location-based services.
In addition to presenting two sessions, Boingo is also participating in the WBA Wi-Fi Global Congress’ first “Live NGH Experience” at the event, alongside major carriers including AT&T, BT, China Mobile and NTT DOCOMO. The deployment will allow attendees to experience seamless Wi-Fi roaming via Passpoint-certified devices during the show.
