DJ Khaled and We The Best Music Group to Make Donation Supporting Miami Norland High School

Hip-Hop Icon Personally Appearing at School September 20

NEW YORK--()--Miami is always on DJ Khaled's mind and in his heart.

On Friday September 20, the Grammy Award-nominated multi-platinum artist, producer, mogul, and C.E.O. of We The Best Music Group will grant a generous donation of $10,000 to Miami Norland High School on behalf of himself and We The Best Music Group. Khaled is set to deliver this endowment in person at the school's auditorium in front of an audience of over 500 students and faculty members during the afternoon that day. In addition, radio station WEDR Miami 99 JAMZ will be on hand.

Since 1998, he has been embedded in Miami's cultural fabric as a radio personality on 99 JAMZ. Developing a deep connection to the community over his past two decades living in the city, he recognized that this prominent high school was in need of support and wanted to give back in order to encourage and enrich the lives of the next generation of Miamians. This is home to Khaled, and he never forgets that.

Right now, Khaled is also gearing up for the release of his seventh full-length album and third for Cash Money Records and We The Best Music Group, Suffering From Success, in stores October 22nd. Recently, its first single "No New Friends" featuring Drake, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross reached gold status, while its follow-up single "Wanna Be With You" featuring Nicki Minaj, Future, and Rick Ross recently debuted.

Now, he's using that success to aid the community where he got his start.

Khaled is the visionary behind We The Best Music Group, which includes a record label, a management company [We The Best Management], a publishing company [We The Best Publishing], a production company [We The Best Producers], and its own full-fledged studio. To date, he has sold over 14 million singles and garnered 2008 BET Award for Best Collaboration as well as 2008 MVP of the Year and 2010 DJ of the Year at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. His first Grammy Award nomination arrived for the platinum-selling "I'm On One" featuring Drake, Rick, Ross, and Lil Wayne, which also topped the Billboard Hot 100. All the while, he's maintained his profile on-air and even served as the President of Def Jam South.
