Miss GEICO Race Team emphasizes boating safety in new video

WASHINGTON--()--With speeds in excess of 200 mph, the Miss GEICO Race Team is serious about racing. But team members are even more serious when it comes to boating safety. To help boaters and their families stay safe on the water, the Miss GEICO Race Team has created a new video.

The safety video features Miss GEICO Race Team throttle man Scotty Begovich and driver Marc Granet providing vital lessons on several topics related to boat safety. The easy-to-understand tutorial includes information on float plans, tips and advice, performing proper maintenance and routine safety checks on boats and other watercraft, as well as how to properly use a boat trailer.

“Boat safety is the most important aspect of any successful outing,” said Eric Baillargeon, GEICO Insurance Agency Boat program manager. “The new video is a great resource that provides boaters with some basic safety instructions to help prevent costly injuries and dangerous accidents.”

GEICO Insurance Agency reminds boaters to play it safe and take a boater safety course to learn the proper regulations and safety precautions on the water. Proper training, maintenance of your boat and always wearing a life preserver is a must. Also put security measures in place to prevent theft.
