Momentum for Mental Health Hits $1 Million Fundraising Milestone

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Today The Foundation for Mental Health, an organization dedicated to reducing the stigma of mental illness, announced it has reached a cumulative milestone fundraising goal of $1 million. The news comes on the heels of the organization’s tenth annual charity golf tournament held June 3, 2013 at La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos, CA, an event which has raised an increasing amount of funds each year. On the decade anniversary of the event, Momentum for Mental Health is proud to announce the $1 million milestone.

Funds raised go directly for mental health services for individuals suffering from severe mental illnesses in Santa Clara County. The Foundation’s CEO, Paul Taylor, stated, “With the continued support of the local community and the title sponsors, The Cooper Family, we have succeeded in reaching this significant fund raising achievement, which will provide additional funds for many important projects like transportation, medical services, and job training.”

The tournament co-chairs, Larry Burns and Dick Foley, were on hand to thank the many business sponsors and individuals who have been involved in the tournament for over ten years. Mr. Burns stated, “With the continued support of the many business and community participants we were able to reach the $1 million goal. We look forward to achieving even greater success in the years to come.”
