Brockton Mayor Linda M. Balzotti Welcomes Crown Uniform & Linen Service - Crown Healthcare Apparel Service

BROCKTON, Mass.--()--Crown Uniform & Linen ServiceCrown Healthcare Apparel Service will build a new textile laundering and distribution facility on Battles Street in Brockton, Massachusetts. The 94,000 square foot plant will greatly contribute to the city's ongoing efforts to build its economy, spur job growth, and strengthen its vitality and quality of life.

The City of Brockton has greeted us with open arms,” says Crown president, Chris Spilios. “Mayor Balzotti and all the city officials have been most helpful in making this project a reality. This will be our first new modern plant and we couldn’t be more excited that our opening will coincide with our 100th anniversary in 2014.”

The 20 acre site has been unused for many years, but will soon begin a developmental transformation that will result in a state of the art facility. The new plant will provide safe working conditions for Crown Uniform & Linen Service and Crown Healthcare Apparel Service employees, and will be compatible with the sustainable business practices that helped Crown win last year’s “Boston Green Award.”

Brockton Mayor Linda M. Balzotti affirmed the positive impact of the Crown project on the ‘City of Champions’ and she is pleased to see the development plan go forward. “Crown is a great example of the industries we’ve worked hard to bring to Brockton, and it is one that we hope will thrive for generations to come,” added Balzotti. “I’m proud of our work with Chris Spilios and his team, and I’m looking forward to the day Crown breaks ground.”

Dacon of Natick has been selected as the contractor to build the plant in partnership with civil engineer, John Holmgren, of J.K. Holmgren Engineering of Brockton. The process engineering services w ill be provided by American Laundry Systems of Haverhill.

The Sustainable Business Leadership Program inspected and certified Crown’s South Boston facility, and will be working with Crown again to ensure SBLP certification at the new location. Crown has already established a “Green Team” and a “Sustainability Action Plan”, and will continue its tradition of providing first class quality and service, with an even greater dedication to sustainable and environmentally friendly processes.
