The Commonwealth of Virginia Selects ActiveHealth Management to Implement Integrated Health Program for 200,000 Members

Integrated Health management and wellness program offers personalized approach to help improve state employee health

NEW YORK--()--ActiveHealth Management (ActiveHealth®) announced today that the Commonwealth of Virginia (the Commonwealth) has selected ActiveHealth to provide health management and wellness services for up to 200,000 state health plan members beginning July 1, 2013. ActiveHealth’s services will support the Commonwealth’s commitment to improve the health of its workforce with member-focused programs.

Services to support individual health needs

ActiveHealth will provide health management and wellness services including telephonic coaching, care alerts and on-site programs. All programs are integrated through ActiveHealth’s CareEngine® System. The CareEngine technology uses health data to build a personal health profile for each member and helps identify health programs and services for each person. Available services support the different needs of the workforce, from managing health conditions to completing wellness goals.

Members receive access to a personal health website

All Commonwealth members will gain access to ActiveHealth’s online tools through the secure health website MyActiveHealthSM. The website provides a personalized experience for members to understand their health and take steps to make positive changes. Members can use MyActiveHealth to:

  • Find out more about their health conditions;
  • Develop wellness goals and track their progress; and
  • Use tools such as online coaching to help support their goals.

“A successful integrated health program is able to help everyone with their personal health needs. ActiveHealth shares the Commonwealth’s goals, and we will support each member’s efforts to achieve better health and the Commonwealth’s efforts to promote healthier behaviors,” said Richard Noffsinger, CEO and president, ActiveHealth.

Incentives to promote healthier behaviors

ActiveHealth will also manage incentives established by the Commonwealth to help encourage healthier behaviors. These incentives will focus on preventive care, such as having an annual physical and receiving a flu shot. This will further support the Commonwealth’s efforts to improve the health of the state employees.
