TurboTax Surpasses $2 Million Goal to Support U.S. Troops

Mission2Match Campaign Benefits Operation Homefront

SAN DIEGO--()--Thanks to the generosity of TurboTax customers, Mission2Match (www.mission2match.com), a cooperative fundraising effort between Intuit TurboTax® and Operation Homefront, has raised more than $1 million in direct donations to support U.S. troops and their families.

In addition, Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), maker of TurboTax and the Intuit Financial Freedom Foundation pledged to match $1 million in donations, bringing the total to over $2 million in emergency financial support and assistance to America’s servicemen and women.

Donations made through Mission2Match directly help veterans and wounded warriors like Air Force Sgt. Angelo Rodriguez and his family. Following his three deployments to Uzbekistan, the father of two lost his memory and could barely walk or talk. After almost two years of relying on family and friends for support, Operation Homefront has given Rodriquez and his family a place to live and a new beginning.

“The strength of Operation Homefront has always been that we represent the desire of so many Americans to assist our military families and wounded service members,” said Jim Knotts, President & CEO of Operation Homefront. “We thank the thousands of Americans who took this opportunity to give a tangible expression of that support, and we thank Intuit for their million-dollar match to make that support go even further.”

Each donation made to Mission2Match through TurboTax Online was matched and then matched a second time when donors tweeted (#mission2match) and shared the opportunity to give with their social network.

“We’re very grateful to the thousands of TurboTax customers who made generous donations to support the heroes who sacrifice so much for our country,” said Dan Maurer, senior vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Consumer Group. “TurboTax has a long history of supporting the military and we couldn’t be prouder of this partnership with our customers and Operation Homefront to provide much needed assistance to our troops and their families.”
