LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Teradek, an innovator of professional wireless video products, today announced several new additions and updates to their line of products. Teradek’s new hardware products are Bond 2.0™, Bond Pro ™, Edge™ and Slice™. Teradek has also added important new updates to the popular award-winning Bolt™ and Bond™ product lines.
“It’s been a big year for us at Teradek and we are thrilled to introduce five new products, in addition to adding new features to our existing award-winning product lines,” said Nicol Verheem, CEO of Teradek. “The five new hardware products are designed for the next generation of live HD broadcast solutions for OB vans, mobile studios, and live production companies. The updates to our existing products are comprised of all of the important features we’ve collected from our customers over the past year. These include improved ease-of-use, increased performance in congested environments, and remote management capabilities allowing for quick deployments in a scale not possible before.”
Bond 2.0 and Bond Pro are new integrated camera-top and camera-back H.264 cellular broadcast solutions designed to give camera crews the mobility and flexibility to broadcast HD footage at a moments notice from the most challenging environments. Bond 2.0 supports one more modem for a total of six, and it has a built-in back-up battery. It also requires fewer cables than the original Bond+Cube solution. Bond Pro was specifically developed for broadcast cameras with Gold- or V-mount power systems, which makes it a simple addition to any ENG rig. Both devices support IFB communication and include a new flexible patent pending modem mounting design that ensures all six modem dongles are protected from aggressive handling.
Edge and Slice, Teradek’s two new rack-mount solutions, were developed to enhance the broadcast capabilities of news corporations, event production companies, and professional sports organizations. The Teradek Slice is an HD-SDI High Profile H.264 encoder and decoder that enables video professionals to broadcast low latency, high definition 1080p video up to 10Mbps for IPTV, streaming servers, set-top boxes, or recorders. The Edge is a bonded cellular hotspot with 6 built-in 3G/4G/LTE modems with external antennas for extended WiFi and cellular coverage. Edge was designed for fixed installations to supplement or even replace an OB Van’s satellite connectivity with bonded cellular capabilities.
The Bolt family of latency-free transmitters gains HDMI support and can be mixed or matched with current HD-SDI Bolt systems. Additionally, the HD-SDI units were updated for improved range, support for diverse power sources, and most importantly, support for timecode and metadata transmission over the wireless SDI link. This allows HD-SDI Bolt's to take advantage of wireless proxy recording from cameras such as RED's Epic, ARRI's Alexa, Blackmagic Design's Cinema Camera, and others.
Teradek has also added a new iOS application for the Bond family of bonded cellular transmitters, offering local real-time monitoring and device control from iPads and iPhones. The iOS application will be available for free in the App store.
Teradek’s HDMI Bolt, Bond, Bond 2.0, Bond Pro, Edge, and Slice will be showcased along with the Company’s other products at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show, from April 8-11, 2013 at Booth C9939.
