ALEXANDRIA, Va.--()--The recent sequestration bill will result in a 4-day work week and 20% pay cut for some federal employees beginning as early as April 1, 2013. Baucom pledges to hire qualified veterans impacted by the furlough to help alleviate the financial burden facing affected employees and their families.

"I’m glad that I’ll be able to help out some of the impacted employees. Given that our business doubles during the spring and summer seasons, Two Marines Moving has the capacity to hire an army of part-timers and full-timers to meet our increased demand. Just don't hold it against us that we also hire Army, Navy, and Air-Force personnel," Baucom says with a smile.

This pledge will give employment opportunities to furloughed employees allowing them to continue working a five-day work week, which for some is essential. They can continue to earn income and provide for their families without missing a financial-beat. According to the Office of Personnel and Management, veterans make up approximately 27.3% of the two million federal employees and of the 800,000 Department of Defense employees facing furloughs, 44% are veterans. Working an extra day or two could equate to a potential $6,000 - $12,000 increase in yearly income.

"Once I got the news that my work week was going to be shortened, I knew that I could count on Two Marines Moving as a feasible alternative to supplement my income. The veteran-friendly work environment and flexibility with my responsibilities at my full time job has created a solution to my reduced income," says Jeffery Volk, a part time Two Marines Moving employee and furloughed federal employee.

Two Marines Moving has open positions for full and part time entry level movers. Employees regularly earn extra bonuses for satisfactory reviews from clients and exceeding expectations. Advancement in pay and duties are available to driver, dispatcher, and sales positions for those that demonstrate the highest levels of responsibility.

Two Marines Moving was founded on November 10th, 2008, the same day that the Marine Corps was founded in 1775. Founder, Nick Baucom, served 6 honorable years in the Marines, including a deployment to Iraq as an infantryman during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Two Marines Moving now has over 50 employees. The company hires veterans to complete residential and commercial moving missions in the Washington D.C. Metro area.
