LAFAYETTE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Phil Schaap, noted jazz historian, educator, and producer, has accepted the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Generations in Jazz Foundation in Lafayette, California.
Curator of Jazz at Lincoln Center and radio personality, Phil is dedicated to preserving the spirit of this original American art form. His radio show and lessons are rich in the heritage of jazz and he possesses a unique ability to present the story with the music.
He has been profiled in the New Yorker magazine for his seminal role in the preservation of jazz music and is widely regarded as one of its foremost scholars.
