NEW YORK & SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hill+Knowlton Strategies has appointed internal talent Jamie Morse to be managing director of the global firm’s Singapore office. Morse had been serving as deputy managing director of Malaysia prior to this appointment.
Former managing director Baey Yam Keng recently moved to a senior advisory role with the firm to allow him more time to focus on his position as a member of Parliament in Singapore.
In his new role, Morse will build upon the strong heritage of H+K Strategies’ Singapore operation, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. As part of his immediate focus, he will be identifying and bringing on board high-caliber talent from Singapore and the region to serve clients and grow the business, particularly in the key technology and health care sectors, as well as growing the firm’s already strong digital capabilities.
“Jamie is an exemplary international public relations professional and will be a strong in-country representative for Hill+Knowlton Strategies,” said John Morgan, president and CEO, Asia. “He’s as adept at managing sophisticated client relationships across diverse sectors as he is managing country operations to drive performance, develop staff and better serve clients. After serving in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, we're confident he will continue his successful streak in Singapore as we aim to drive our business in a regional headquarters for public relations and one of Asia's most important countries.”
Morse joined H+K Strategies in Qatar as an account director in 2009, where he led teams servicing clients in the energy, property and construction, and technology sectors. Returning to Asia in 2012, he took on the role of deputy managing director with H+K Strategies Malaysia, where he helped grow office capabilities in digital communications and increase bottom-line performance. Prior to joining H+K Strategies, Morse worked in both in-house and consultancy roles in Australia and South Korea. He has a master’s degree in professional communications from Deakin University in Australia.
“I am delighted to be joining one of the most dynamic and historically successful communications consultant teams in Singapore and am wholly committed to ensuring ongoing superior client service through industry-leading campaign delivery, underpinned by H+K Strategies’ central proposition as strategic communications consultants driven by insight and creativity,” Morse said.
“The sophistication of the Singaporean economy is reflected in a vibrant and active communications and media landscape with the finance, property, health care and ICT/technology sectors as key drivers of economic growth and social advancement. I look forward to bringing my international experience to bear to help Singaporean organizations in these and others sectors further their organizational and economic goals.”
H+K Strategies has also promoted Chip Ng to deputy managing director of Singapore as well as regional director of financial communications for Southeast Asia. Ng joined H+K Strategies in 2011 and has been instrumental in growing the office’s corporate and financial practice. In these roles he will assist the Singapore managing director to oversee and manage the operations and growth of the office, and will also be responsible for overseeing major client relationships and growth of the corporate and financial practice in Singapore as well as the financial communications practice in Southeast Asia.
“I sincerely thank Chip for his leadership and support as the interim managing director and congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion, as does the staff in Singapore,” Morgan said. “Our entire operation will benefit from his continued contributions in Singapore and the region.”
Ng has more than 20 years of experience as an in-house and agency communications professional with a broad range of communications experience encompassing financial, investor relations, corporate, issues management and litigation support. He holds an MBA in international business and a Bachelor of Business with concentrations in communications and marketing from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
