Brian comes to Meditology with roots in “Big 4” healthcare security consulting where he advised organizations on the development and deployment of information security programs. He specializes in Identity and Access Management, web and application security, and security strategies for Electronic Health Records and Health Information Exchange deployments. Brian served as the Chief Information Security Officer for a large multi-facility health system for five years. He holds a CISSP certification and is certified by the NSA in information systems security and information assurance.
“As a former CISO responsible for information security at a large health system, I appreciated consultants that not only were security experts but also understood my challenges….challenges unique to healthcare. Consulting offers the opportunity to work with a variety of organizations, and I joined Meditology because I am able to leverage my consulting and operational experience at an industry leading firm that specializes in healthcare IT,” stated Brian.
The HIPAA Omnibus rule, over 500 healthcare breaches, and emerging technologies (e.g., HIEs, cloud and mobile computing) are driving significant growth for Meditology. “We have expanded our services and continue to invest in leaders like Brian to assist our clients with their most pressing privacy and security challenges,” according to Cliff Baker, Managing Partner. Meditology’s clients nationally are focused this year on compliance initiatives (OCR, NIST, HITRUST) such as access management, business associate/vendor security, and operational solutions for understaffed security and privacy teams.
