NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cyber-Ark® Software, a leading global information security provider for protecting and managing critical applications, identities and sensitive information, today announced the appointment of Tom Heiser, president of RSA, The Security Division of EMC, to the company’ Board of Directors. Heiser is well-established in the information security industry as an innovative strategist with a proven track record developing and leading successful global businesses. Cyber-Ark will draw on his extensive global experience at EMC and RSA to support the company’s rapid growth, product momentum and security-industry leadership.
Cyber-Ark is the market leader in privileged identity management and privileged session management solutions that secure an organization’s critical assets from inside the firewall. The company has experienced a year-over-year revenue growth rate of more than 30 percent, increased profitability, and an expanding customer base of more than 1,200 global enterprises and government organizations. Heiser’s influence and strategic guidance will be leveraged as the company continues to accelerate growth, penetrate new markets, and bolster strategic partnerships.
“As Cyber-Ark moves into its next phase of growth, I am excited to welcome Tom to Cyber-Ark’s Board of Directors,” said Udi Mokady, president and CEO of Cyber-Ark Software. “Tom‘s amazing track record of leading global initiatives, launching new categories and his strategic guidance will help us further expand our leadership position and drive continued growth for the company.”
Heiser, who originally joined EMC in 1984 as the company’s fourteenth employee, has served the company in a number of strategic business, management and sales leadership capacities for more than 25 years. In his current role as President of RSA, Heiser oversees all aspects of the division’s business operations, including global sales and services, product development, marketing, finance, strategy and IT. He joined RSA in 2008 as Senior Vice President of Global Customer Operations, was promoted to COO in 2010 and into his current role as president in 2011.
“It is no surprise that Cyber-Ark is one of the fastest-growing companies in the IT security industry, with innovative products that solve real customer problems and a talented team with deep domain expertise,” said Heiser. “Information security is evolving and Cyber-Ark’s approach to security, which assumes the attacker is already on the inside, is critical for protecting against modern-day cyber-attacks. With its rapidly expanding blue chip client roster and network of channel partners, I am thrilled to join Cyber-Ark’s Board of Directors to help guide the company through the immensely exciting opportunities ahead.”
At EMC, Heiser previously served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Centera Business Unit, where he was instrumental in overseeing Centera’s emergence as one of EMC’s fastest-growing product lines. He also served as EMC’s Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and New Ventures, where he led the team ultimately responsible for the acquisition of RSA in 2006.
