MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oasis Animation is proud to announce that it has concluded a deal with PBS station WGBH for the production of 16 new episodes of Martha Speaks, an animated PBS KIDS television series for kids ages 4-7. Oasis will provide the preproduction, digital animation and postproduction services on the series, from its Montreal studios. This production will create 70 new jobs in Quebec.
Now in its fourth season on PBS KIDS, Martha Speaks, based on the best-selling children’s books by Susan Meddaugh, is a proven tool for increasing children’s vocabulary. Martha is a beloved family dog who gained the power of speech when she was accidentally fed alphabet soup. Each episode is an adventure with Martha and her friends, during which they learn an array of vocabulary words. Martha’s adventures continue online at pbskids.org/martha, a comprehensive website that builds on the series’ curriculum to bolster the oral vocabulary of 4- to 7-year-olds.
The 16 episodes of Martha Speaks will be broadcast on PBS. This is the third collaboration between WGBH and Oasis Animation, following the animated series Arthur 146-165 and Arthur 166-185.
