TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fujita Kanko Inc., a leading hospitality company headquartered in Tokyo, revealed a plan to open a one-of-a-kind facility, Serenity Garden, at its flagship property, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, which currently operates as Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so. Fujita Kanko, the owner of the exquisite luxury property, is taking over the management and rebranding the hotel as Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo as of January 1, 2013.
Serenity Garden, occupying 16,145 square feet (1,500 square meters), is on the rooftop of the hotel. The open-air, artificial garden accommodates multiple uses as a wedding and event facility and occasional restaurant.
“With a breathtaking view of Tokyo and our renowned 17-acre Japanese botanical garden, Serenity Garden will be the new Tokyo hot spot for weddings, corporate parties and special events,” said Kazumasa Suezawa, Fujita Kanko’s President and CEO. “We look forward to working with meeting planners from around the world on innovative uses for this space. It’s another great option at the hotel for international conferences and events.”
Fujita Kanko has begun US$90 million of renovations and upgrades to the hotel, to be completed over the next three years. Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo will offer 259 guest rooms, 12 restaurants and bars and 36 well-equipped banquet/meeting rooms, including one that accommodates banquets for up to 2,000 guests, the most extensive hotel meeting facilities in Tokyo. The hotel’s other new facilities include Café Foresta, with an open kitchen, specializing in sweets. Guests can enjoy watching chefs prepare scrumptious desserts.
Chinzanso, meaning “villa on a mountain of camellias,” is known for its majestic garden in the center of Tokyo with a history going back hundreds of years. With the scenic garden as a backdrop, it is one of Japan’s most prestigious banquet and meeting venues, hosting international conventions, functions for royalty and state leaders as well as private parties and weddings.
