PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK), the world’s highest attended motion picture exhibitor, will open a new 12-screen, all-digital movie theatre featuring the new Cinemark NextGen cinema design concept in Napa, CA on Friday, November 9, 2012. The new Century Napa Valley and XD Theatre, located at 195 Gasser Drive, at Soscol Avenue and West Imola Drive behind the South Napa Marketplace will showcase large, wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling screens, enhanced sound systems, and digital presentation in every auditorium, including a Cinemark XD: Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium, and the new CineVino Wine Bar featuring many local wine brands based in Napa Valley and Sonoma County.

Long recognized as a pioneer in the theatrical exhibition industry, Cinemark is taking the cinema entertainment experience to the next level. The new Cinemark NextGen theatre will offer the latest technology, cutting edge amenities and customer-preferred options all under one roof. NextGen amenities will include:
- State-of-the-art viewing environment with wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor screens available in all auditoriums
- 4K digital projection powered by Barco projectors; RealD 3D capability in six auditoriums
- Enhanced, sound systems that will enable customers to hear the movie as the filmmakers intended
- Cinemark's innovative self-serve concession stand - offering freshly-popped popcorn, Coca-Cola fountain beverages and favorite candy brands
- Cinemark XD: Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium
Cinemark will be bringing their premium large screen format, Cinemark XD auditorium to the market. Cinemark XD is a complete entertainment environment featuring a large wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor screen, plush seating and a custom digital surround sound system featuring the latest in sound technology, including a Dolby® Atmos™ cinema sound system. The digital images will be delivered by a Doremi server and a Barco DLP digital projector, which offers the brightest light standards in the industry. The XD auditorium will exhibit the newest movies every week, including 2D and RealD 3D pictures.
With the opening of the new Century Napa Valley and XD Theatre, Cinemark proudly introduces the CineVino Wine Bar, with a luxurious lounge, serving locally produced wines and beers. Favorites such as Trinchero Family Estates, Francis Ford Coppola Wineries, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and the Napa Smith Brewery will be featured at the CineVino Wine Bar, complemented by small plate food selections which will pair nicely with the drink offerings.
The new Century Napa Valley and XD location will also be the company’s first theatre certified under the LEED Green Building Design and Construction program. LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. The Napa theatre will earn points toward a Gold LEED certification under the categories of Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality.
In addition to various sustainable practices during construction, LEED highlights of the new building include highly efficient lighting and HVAC systems which perform 35% better than California’s Title 24-2008 require; LED interior, parking lot and security lighting; an indirect evaporative cooling system delivering conditioned outside air for comfortable indoor air quality; a 100 kW photovoltaic system providing onsite renewable energy, thereby reducing dependence on the electric grid; rainwater harvesting which reduces dependence on city water systems; and green cleaning practices including recycling of cardboard and plastics will be employed.
A unique, additional touch to the Century Napa Valley and XD Theatre is the display of new public art by renowned Napa resident Gordon Huether. Five back-lit panels of movie related images will adorn the back side of the building, providing the Napa community the opportunity to celebrate the visual art of moving pictures through Huether’s static images.

In order to make movie-going as easy and enjoyable as possible, Cinemark focuses on offering more choices to their customers. For example, the new theatre will feature online "Print at Home" ticketing, available at www.cinemark.com, which will make it easy for patrons to purchase tickets in advance from the comfort of their home or office. Customers will be able to bypass lines at the box office and go directly to a kiosk in the theatre lobby. Also, guests can download and purchase tickets through Cinemark's mobile applications that are available for iPhone and Android phones. Finally, to stay connected, customers can sign up online to receive free, weekly showtime emailers that contain online coupons for discounts at the concession stand and other weekly special offers.
As part of the Grand Opening celebration for the new Century Napa Valley and XD Theatre, the Napa Valley Film Festival will bring some of its exciting line-up to the new location.
