LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Variety is pleased to announce that Milt Barlow, Co-Founder and CEO of China Lion Film Distribution, will be featured in a Keynote Conversation at its BRIC Summit on June 15, held in association with the AFCI Locations Show, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Barlow, a 30-year entertainment veteran and former President and CEO of Village Roadshow Entertainment, will speak to the growing significance of China’s contribution to the expanding international film marketplace. Co-founded by filmmaker Jiang Yanming, China Lion is a leading global distributor of Chinese and Asian films, with China BONA and Huayi Brothers each owning equity stakes in the firm. China Lion exclusively distributes through AMC Theaters in the U.S. and Toronto theatrically with day and date releases in China and other locations with large Chinese populations.
Variety’s BRIC Summit will be dedicated to exploring how the fast-growing film and TV economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China are critical to the ongoing growth of the entertainment industry. Open real estate is fueling theatrical screen expansion, rising numbers of middle class are hungrier to purchase entertainment on traditional and digital platforms, and BRIC nations are opening their arms to Hollywood filmmakers to continue expanding their countries’ media industries.
Session topics will include:
- State of the Entertainment Business with BRIC and Beyond
- Partnering for the Future – Co-Productions and Co-Financing with BRIC Nations
